So about that patriotic strawberry...
Gee, I thought I would have that finished a lot sooner than later. Actually, I finished it a couple of weeks ago and you would think I would be jumping up and down and dancing around the house to announce it to the world! The truth is, this little bugger gave me such fits! I stitched, I ripped, I stitched, I ripped, all trying to find just that perfect stitch and thread to go in each stripe. If I had known it was going to be such a brow beater, I would have just basketweaved the whole thing! LOL
Here she is in all her glory:
After awhile, I said screw it (I really wasn’t that nice), and just did what I did saying long may she wave all the way through! I don’t think Betsy Ross would have been so critical of my stitch and thread selections if I were to offer to help her stitch the grand ole flag oh so many years ago. So I say she’s done and when the wonderful gals at Barbara’s Needlepoint in Sioux Falls finish her into the strawberry she is meant to be, she will be fabulous!
In the meantime, I have started a patriotic star which I bought from the gals at Barbara’s Needlepoint when I got the strawberry. I am changing the light blue to white and have just started but I think this one might work up quickly!
I just love this star! And I also love my new needle minder I got from my dear friend Annie. It’s just too cute!
Happy Stitching!
