February Strawberry - a start and a finish!
I started this strawberry back in July. Mom was diagnosed with brain cancer and I went to be with her in Florida. This little strawberry was the one piece I grabbed to take with me because it was small, I didn’t need to have it on a frame, could stitch it in hand, and could pick it up and put it down. In other words, a no brainer. Just something to keep my hands occupied while tending to my dying mother. This strawberry is part of the Strawberry Club from Barbara’s Needlepoint in Sioux Falls, SD, February’s strawberry.
I suppose it was a great coincidence that I would pick this piece to work on. After all, it’s all about LOVE! I didn’t get to finish this before Mom passed away on July 10th, sadly, but it’s ok. I did finish it, which is huge for me!
So Mom, this one is for you. I know you are in a better place, free of pain, reuinited with Dad and all of your other loved ones that have left before you. I love you to the moon and back. Miss you and Dad every day, but I’m glad you are reunited once again. xx
